Jacqueline Du Pre - Elgar
Due to an article in today's NY Times, I got me a hankerin' fer some Elgar.
And if you've got a hankerin' fer some Elgar, you can't go wrong with Jacqueline Du Pre playing Elgar's Cello Concerto, conducted by Daniel Barenboim.
The other movements are out there, too.
The article also has a link to a video of Elgar conducting Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 in 1931 at the opening of Abbey Road recording studios.
